Themes of investigations (the main trends of investigations):
Investigation of the mechanisms of genetic control of orchard plant features and properties and development of selection methods (I);
Change of plant genetic structure by biotechnological methods (II);
Selection of fruit and decorative plants (III).
I
1. Investigation of the potencies of currant cultivar and remote hybrid resistance to cold.
2. Investigation of the functioning of oligogenes of apple tree resistance to wart in differentenvironment.
3. Investigation of the donor properties of the resistance of apple tree varieties and forms to cancer, wart and cold.
4. Remote hybridization of currants (R. sanquineum, R. janczewski, R. usuriensis, R. ponciflorum).
5. Investigation of the inheritance regularities of apple tree tolerance to mistletoes, isolation of donors
6. Investigation of the expression of features in currants of various ploidy.
7. Investigation of photosynthesis intensity its inheritance in cultivars and forms of genus Fragaria.
II
1. Investigation in vitro of morphogenesis of varieties of gegužraibiniai family plants.
2. Genetic control in vitro of the factors of strawberry resistance to cold.
3. Construction of the vectors with various promoters of Vf gene of apple tree resistance to wart and investigation of the expression of transgenes.
4. Creation of vectors of gene PHY B with various promoters.
5. Creation of currant forms resistant to virus of reversion (BRV) applying post-transcriptional inhibition of gene activity.
6. Creation of vectors of gene Rol B, controlled by different promoters, and investigation of expression in Cydonia oblonga.
7. Isolation of trunks of black currant reversion virus (BRV).
8. Isolation of strawberry genes of resistance to phytophtorosis (RPT-1, RPT-2, RPT-3, RPT-4) and investigation of DNR successions.
9. Investigation of the transmission and the expression of the gene, which determine proteins of virus integument, of pathogen virus, which causes plum tree wart.
